Uncovering Mobility Insights—
Research Approach—
During weekly discussions with Nuvio's founder, a skilled physical therapist, our team delved into understanding patient requirements and encounters. We also spoke with caregivers to identify hurdles in the selection and purchasing journey of walkers.
We stepped into the shoes of those facing mobility challenges, revealing struggles around dignity, autonomy, and human-centered design needs.
Combining empathy-driven insights from users and experts with market landscape research, we zeroed in on the unmet human needs and problems with current mobility walker products and purchasing.
This deep human centric insight became the launch point for Nuvio's differentiated value proposition.

Innovation Stalled, Limiting Those Eager to Move
Walker brands didn't need to innovate thanks to entrenched relationships with institutions focused on cost and liability. They churned out commodities indifferent to effectiveness. Surprisingly, traditional walkers cause many injuries - yet the standard walker is status quo. Those determined to move forward found their aspirations for mobility and autonomy artificially restricted.

Strategic Recommendations—
We reframed Nuvio's positioning around delivering a holistic experience that empowered determined movers. We designed a playbook for growth rooted in purpose that included a clear yet flexible 3-wave roadmap for Nuvio's Fall 2023 launch.
Wave 1: Focused on leveraging the founder's clinical network for pilots to generate validation and testimonials.
Wave 2: involved refining brand communications, small run sales to select clients in order to amplify message.
Wave 3: Drive demand and raise capital for manufacturing at scale via pre-orders.
Strategic Blueprint—
Employing a design-focused approach to new business innovation, our group leveraged the framework below to quickly develop prototypes for our go-to-market plan. Through prompt hypothesis formation and testing, we reduced unknowns and optimized anticipated results in vital business segments.

2/2 Key Insight—
Caregivers and Therapists Are Key Influencers
Caregivers and therapists emerged as critical decision-makers in the walker selection process. This enabled a new approach of partnering directly with these groups instead of traditional institutional channels. By becoming trusted advisors to caregivers and therapists, there was an opportunity to truly understand user needs and match individuals with the right devices.
